HBCAA - Support Service Offered


ELIGIBILITY 

 

To be eligible to receive support from HBCAA you are required to have a disability as stated in the Disability Services Act 2006.  The Act states that a person's disability must:

 

  • be attributable to an intellectual, psychiatric, cognitive, neurological, sensory or physical impairment (or combination): and  
  • be between the ages of 0 to 65 years of age; and  
  • have occurred before the age of 65; and  
  • be an Australian Citizen; and
  • Lives in Queensland ; and  
  • A permanent Australian resident; or
  • A Temporary Protection Visa Holder; or
  • A citizen who arrived in prior to 26/02/01; or
  • A member of a family on a work/study visa sponsored by the Aust. Govt

  • Flexible support services for people by meeting their needs based on valued and informed choices.
  • Assistance with the development of skills,self confidence and self esteem of people with a disability in Hervey Bay and surrounding areas.

  •        Be treated as a person with individual needs, respect and dignity
  •        Know about what we can and cannot do to meet your needs
  •        Feel comfortable asking questions
  •        Be aware of the complaints procedure and how to use it
  •        Be confident of privacy and confidentiality
  •        Receive appropriate and on time services of your choice
  •        Have support workers of your choice
  •        Know your rights and responsibilities in relation to your support

Our service can assist people to obtain funding packages, if required, with individual circumstances, existing strengths and supports, and areas of need all taken into consideration.
